My name is Rosalind Abbott, usually called Roz! My late husband was Neil and we have three children, all grown up, and three grandchildren, and a cat.
As a family we have worshipped at St Giles since 1981, moving here from the Wirral.I was licensed as a Lay Reader/Licensed Lay Minister (LLM) for St Giles in 2000 with my great friend Jo Pattison (RIP).
The role of Lay Reader has offered me wonderful opportunities to explore and develop my faith, learning alongside and from others. As the role has developed I have had the privilege of partaking in and leading various styles of worship both traditional and modern, both equally enjoyed, although my primary focus is supporting Eucharistic worship. A particular joy is being part of the team that goes into our church schools to share “Open the Book”, a project that aims to present the Bible to children.
When not helping with family or parish I enjoy listening to music, especially JS Bach in all the genres his work is performed, walking, visiting interesting buildings and gardens, and flower arranging.
